Weekend Recap

Here is our weekend recap...a little late!

To be honest, I'm not even sure what all we did this weekend....good thing I have some pictures! I do know that is was pretty laid back. And I enjoyed not having to get out to go car or furniture shopping!

Jaxen is pretty much at that stage where he wants to do anything he sees anyone else doing. I blow dry my hair almost every day and Jaxen has witnessed this many, many times. I even blow dry his hair sometimes too! Here lately though, he has really enjoyed playing with the blow dryer. Sometimes it is a microphone and sometimes he dries things with it. While I was getting ready one morning, this kept him entertained!

And then he started reading...up side down. Genius, I tell you!

We had a play date at the zoo and on the way Jaxen was so excited, he fell asleep!

Once we arrived, he woke up and had a great time!
This is Jaxen looking at the bear.

And this is his buddy, Josiah. Josiah's sister, Rebekah also came along.
She gave her seat to Jaxen in the wagon and I pushed her in Jaxen’s stroller.

And this next picture pretty much sums up why we had a laid back weekend…
Rainy and cool.

Saturday night after dinner we went out for some ice cream.
And these next pictures just crack me up!
Like father, like son....

And then things got messy...but Jaxen enjoyed every bite!

Jaxen spent a lot of time playing with his tool bench.
This was a Christmas present, that we just now opened and put together - And he loves it!

One last pic...Jaxen really wanted to go outside and play but it was
pretty cold, windy and rainy, but he was determined!
So I bundled him up and out we went.
We only stayed out for about 15 minutes though!

I’m sure we did some other things this weekend…but that is all I have pictures of!

So far - we are having a good week. Jaxen seems to have a handle
on his tantrum-throwing and I seem to have a bit more patience.
Win-Win!

Random Jaxen Pictures

Here are some random pictures of Jaxen the last few weeks...

Jaxen discovered his lunch box in the cabinet….

and was thrilled with himself for doing so - So he clapped for himself!

He can see his reflection in our stove.
Everytime he is playing in the kitchen, he has to stop and look at himself!

Walking around with my shoes on his hands!

He was eating some M&M’s…
and I just think his little expressions are so cute!

He was so tired one afternoon that he
fell asleep in his chair, in his room.

He went from his chair (above)
to laying with Nik on the couch (below).

And a bonus picture for you…
Nik was playing Jaxen’s dog-guitar, trying to entertain him one day!

If you remember, we purchased this on the road, as we were moving to Watertown.
We keep it in the car to keep Jaxen entertained (if need be).

I just noticed that it is still in part of its packaging
(the brown at the bottom is the paper, covered in plastic still - ha ha ha!!!)

A New Car

We did it!

We finally purchased a 2nd vehicle!

Before I show you the vehicle -
here are some pics we took the other day while out vehicle shopping.

We saw this little waterfall from the road, so we stopped to check it out.
It was so pretty and peaceful!

I love this pic!
And my cutie husband!

Onto the second vehicle…

We purchased a 2000 Volvo AWD V70 XC.
Basically, a station wagon - haha!

It has around 100,000 miles.
It gets around 20 mpg in the city / 29 mpg on the highway.
Leather interior / Sunroof.

It was a pretty good price and the best thing about this car,
is we do not have a car payment.

We just really felt that we wanted/needed the freedom of not
having a car payment. We would rather have an older (not as cool vehicle)
than to be burdened for multiple years with a debt payment.

That is just how we feel now.

And now…we have 2 kinda-funny looking vehicles! Ha ha!

A Tour of our Home - Outside

Guess what I found? A post that I never posted...(see, I told you it would happen before 20 days past - haha!) These pics were taken a few weeks ago…before all the snow melted. I apologize that they are not current!

On with the home tour…

Welcome to the outside of our house!

If you continue down our driveway, you will come to the detached garage…
the inside is unfinished - but even so, it is nice to have a place to park vehicles out of the elements!

You can see along our driveway a door - this is the door
that leads into the kitchen or down to the basement.

This is a view of the front of the house.
Those are the rocking chairs I picked up at the last Garage Sale - so glad I did!

And here is the right side of the house.

That’s pretty much the outside of our home!

And I think that now concludes our tour!

FINALLY!

A Tour of our Home - Upstairs

As promised (about 20 days ago…) here is the upstairs tour of our home! Sorry for the delay. On with the tour…

As you walk upstairs, this is your view:

From upstairs…the stairs are on the left, the bathroom is on the right.

The bathroom.
Yes, pink (maybe ‘mauve’) tile. It is what it is!

Jaxen’s room.
Yes, that is a space heater on the stool. No vent in this room.
Also no closet. One electrical outlet. But…there is a light!

This is a spare room.
It may eventually become an office.
Right now, it is storage and our ironing room!

The last time you saw this view…
it looked like this:

Here it is now:

Our guest room.
One electrical outlet. No light. But it has a vent!

And our bedroom.
Two electrical outlets. No light. One vent.

Next up on the Tour of our Home (hopefully before 20 days)... is the outside of our house!

Easter

I found a couple more pictures from the Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday…

Nik was working a station as the kids learned about the
“Resurrection Eggs” - and he had a little helper!

One more picture of him finding his eggs!

Saturday afternoon I gave Nik and Jaxen their Easter Baskets. I knew Sunday would be a bit hectic…so I gave them out early. Pretty much all I did this year, was some candy and I gave Jaxen some ABC Fridge Magnets. He likes playing with them.

That evening we were invited to hang out and color Easter Eggs. Jaxen did not really color the eggs, he just like stirring all the colors. And dipping his hands in it! Maybe next year…!

Here is a picture of Jaxen and I from Easter last year…and then this year!

And Nik and Jaxen from last year…and then this year!

What a change!

Our one family picture from this year!

This was Jaxen’s Easter Outfit. I thought he looked pretty adorable!

We were at church a long time before it started on Sunday,
so the pastor gave Jaxen his own mic, and it entertained him forever!

Dancing and singing in church!

And here is a picture I took of our Church on Sunday.

We had 2 very great Easter Services and then we grilled out for lunch, played outside and played cards and other games all afternoon! We had a great day. This was our first holiday in our new town - and it went well. I’m thankful that people have been kind enough to think about us and include us!
