Life Lately

Well, tomorrow (Friday) is the boys last day of school for 2021. They are pumped! Even I'm ready for a bit more relaxed schedule :)

Here is a little bit of life lately for you...

Zane is a Chiefs fan!
He loves his new shirt - we matched a few weeks ago for their game!

There is nothing better than a clean house with twinkle lights, a lit candle, Christmas pillows and football!

More twinkle lights!

I love working in my dining room with twinkle lights and my Navity.

Last night in the terrible wind storms, I lost a wreath. But look how cute they are on our house! Especially with my black shutter (which used to be maroon) and the black railing (which used to be white).

Nik and I love playing games (when we have some down time).

The boys stayed the night at a friends house last weekend and they came home extra tired. I worked really hard that morning to keep their big (sleep-deprived) feelings at bay. So we started with Go Fish (using Uno cards) and then I worked on mixing up some cookie dough.

The minute their game was finished, they joined in the fun!

We have some wonderful sugar cookies now (no icing this time - we just did sprinkles and such). I probably need to make another batch that they can decorate with icing.

That's about it, I guess. Nik and I are both crazy busy at work, but we are looking forward to Christmas and time with the family!

Christmas Fun

Last weekend we did a few fun Christmas things!

First, Saturday morning, we visited Santa!
The boys school had a pancake breakfast where you could meet Santa.
We filled our bellies and then the boys got to visit with him for a few minutes.

Saturday evening, we ended the night in our pajamas at a Christmas Lights Drive-thru!

Happy December 1

I love the first day of the month! Especially December 1st!
Last night I gave the boys their Christmas pajamas....

And we finished up their teacher gifts!

Christmas soap and earrings, cranberry-white-chocolate cookies, and a funny card that each boy colored. Here is Zane's....

Answer: Horn-aments!

And Jaxen's...

Answer: a cookie sheet!

Happy December 1st! Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Recap

Here is a look at our Thanksgiving day...

Nik was still awake when the boys woke up so we got to spend some unexpected time with him that morning! By 9:00am, we were all sitting around the table enjoying cinnamon rolls and bacon!

Ever since I put our tree up - Zane has been so excited to hang the ornaments.
I was trying to wait until after Thanksgiving - but I gave in and by 10am Zane had hung his 1/2 of the ornaments on the tree. He was very proud of himself!

Jaxen and I taught Zane how to play "Go Fish" recently and so he challenged Nik and I to a game. He won!

The rest of the morning the boys hung on the couch (eating popcorn) and watched a movie together while I made Chocolate Pie. I eventually joined them.

After the movie, Jaxen finally decided he would hang his 1/2 of the ornaments on the tree!

Then the boys and I did some coloring while Nik napped.

For lunch that day, I cleaned out the freezer - think Hot Pockets, Chicken Nuggets, Fries...etc. The boys were thrilled and I let them eat while watching a movie in their room. I sat down around 2:00pm and snacked on some french fries (and also had yogurt) while reading my book.

By 3:30pm we had the Cowboys game on - ready to watch (and nap)!

We finally sat down for our Thanksgiving Meal at 6:45pm. Steak, rolls, salad and of course, QT drinks for everyone!

After our wonderful meal, Nik lit the first fire of the season in our fireplace and we finished up the game while eating Chocolate Pie!

After the boys went to bed, Nik and I watched the new movie, King Richard - it checked all my boxes for a good movie: based on a true story, a subject I like (tennis) and an actor I like (Will Smith)!

And that was our day! It was great!

I am so thankful for my little family - what a blessing they are!

Slowing Down

I have not blogged lately because not much is going on!

The kids are out of school this week for Thanksgiving Break. I am working from home a bit, so Nik can get a little sleep in the mornings with the kids home. He officially started his "busy season" at work, going in earlier than normal, and will start working Sunday's this weekend.

The boys are starting basketball soon - but thankfully it will be a bit slower pace than the football season was. Plus, I'm not coaching!

Work is still pretty busy for me. We are having a hard time filling any of the 3 open positions right now. I hope that changes after the New Year. We will see!

We have a very relaxed, low-key Thanksgiving planned. I hope to do something fun with the kiddos, but it just depends on what is actually open, and how we feel. I'll keep you posted!

That's all I have for now - Enjoying the slower pace of life.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Fall Pics

This past Sunday I asked my boys if they would be willing to let me take a few pics of them, outside. They were not thrilled, but they obliged :) So we headed to a trail that was close by and I snapped a few pics. They are not professional, and I wish we had done a few more "poses" - but I'll take it!

Look how handsome!

They asked to do a "cool" pose...

And this is what they were doing every second I did not make them stand still - ha!

I asked them to sit on the pavement and it was wet - so they had wet bottoms are were not thrilled with me....that's the reason they are not smiling with Nik!

And of course, Zane is "over-smiling" with me!

We let the boys take pictures of us, and they turned out great!

And a selfie to end on!
