Our Week

~ Monday ~

I had my 6 week checkup (from giving birth)…all is well with me!
Zane was my side-kick. And everyone loved him :)

Then I conquered two grocery stores with two kids.
My first time. I was proud!

After the grocery stores success - I took the boys to the park.
We have had the most beautiful week and I am taking full advantage of it!

Jaxen was tuckered out from all the fun at the park…
and fell asleep in the tent we built in his room.

That night we had dinner with friends.
They live close enough that we enjoyed a family walk to and from their  house.
(you can see Nik and Jaxen further down the sidewalk).

~ Tuesday ~

So Monday night, Nik shaved his beard off and then Tuesday, he got a haircut.
Jaxen has been saying the funniest thing to Nik all week:
“Daddy, I like your mouth.”
Hahahaha!!!!

~ Wednesday ~

We met up with some friends at the park again Wednesday morning.

After a Sonic Stop :)

Then we came home and since Zane was sleeping,
Jaxen and I had our snack on the porch while we waited for his OT to start.

OT on the front porch.
Nothing better in Jaxen’s mind!

This cutie is getting more and more active.
It is so fun to see him move and smile more!

~ Thursday ~

After Nik received a phone call from me on Wednesday
where I was super frustrated over something that should not have been frustrating…
he decided to take Thursday off.
He knew I was exhausted (and that he was leaving again Friday for 4 days)
and decided I needed him home and we needed to have a little family time.

Best. Decision. Ever.

He let me take a morning nap on Thursday while he took care of Jaxen and drove him to school.
Then he did a few things around the house that I needed him to take care of.
And since it was such a beautiful day we decided to have a picnic lunch at the river!
It was such a nice time.
Just the four of us.
It was needed.

That was our week in a nutshell!
Bring on the weekend :)

Zane - 6 Weeks

Monday, Zane was 6 weeks old!
Time has flown.
He is no longer a "newborn" but a baby, now  :(

More than not - people have begun to tell me that Zane looks like me.
That's nice to hear since all I ever heard about Jaxen was how he looks just like his daddy!

I still see a lot of Jaxen in Zane... But he is definitely his own person.
As he gets older he has his own look and personality.
So far, that personality is pretty chill - go with the flow.
And I'm grateful! Hope it stays that way!

Zane - 6 weeks

Jaxen - 6 weeks old

Zane has really been a great baby!
The times of crying or eating for a few hours solid have become less and less.
We are starting to get into a pretty good routine.

Zane eats about every 2 1/2 hours during the day.
And most nights he will sleep 4 hours (once) before waking to eat…
Then it's back to every 2 1/2 for the rest of the night.
I’m ready for him to go 4 hours twice a night…
Only getting 4-5 hours of sleep each night is really wearing on me!

Zane still wears size 1 diapers, and he is in 3 month clothes.
He is a chubby little guy - and I love those chubs!

Jaxen calls him “my big little brother” :)

Life Lately

Life lately has been very full.
And a bit stressful. And tiring!

I did a lot of packing while family was here,
and am continuing to do so…although it has slowed down quite a bit!

The attic - all packed up!

Jaxen even got in on the action -
helping me by cutting the styrofoam as it went around breakables.
His idea (the cutting) not mine!
But it kept him busy for awhile :)

And Zane even napped while Nik and I organized the garage!

Everyday I am trying to do something towards our move.
Even if it’s little. We are getting there. Slow and steady.

Our life lately has also been NYI Convention.
Nik was in charge of this two-day convention for our district this past weekend.
I was in charge of feeding them lunch on Saturday.
We planned for 50 and had 75 show up!
I was grateful for two amazing helpers and lunch was a success!
As was the convention.
Busy weekend.

Two Sunday's ago was Bike Sunday.
I could not pass up this cute photo op!

The weather was terrible that day and the actual bike ride was cancelled. Bummer.

The weather has been so nice lately!
It's great. Except that we want to be out in it, instead of packing at home! Haha.

This boy is loving the warmer weather!
Bubbles for the win.

I am trying to get Jaxen out in the nice weather -
for a walk, or the playground…or running errands!

And if I can’t entertain him outside…
I try to do so inside.
Friday night = shower night.
And yes, I got one box packed while Jaxen showered and Zane was entertained by it!

The rest of my life lately has involved doctor visits (three last week). I have had some issues with my right hand - which most recently turned into an infection. Which was terrible. Imagine the palm of my hand infected and my entire hand swollen and with heat (so much so I could not use it for about 3 days). Finally, the infection is going away. I have use of my hand and am getting better each day!

Through everything going on though... This has brought me much joy...

My two boys.

They love each other something fierce (Jaxen, literally loves Zane fiercely - haha!)
But the way Zane looks at and adores Jaxen is just as sweet!

Even though life is crazy lately. We are hanging in there!
With smiles :)

And I wouldn’t trade this guy for anything!
I am so grateful to get to do this life with him.

Photo Dump

This is not the best picture…
but Zane just looked too cute in his shorts!

Thursday morning, Jaxen asked if he could lay
in mommy’s lap and watched TV. I could not resist this sweet face :)

This is my almost four-year-old boy, after school on Thursday.
Nearly grown up!

And this is what Jaxen looks like a majority of time…
his face buried in Zanes!

Sweet brothers...

except when Jaxen is holding Zane’s nose! haha!

 That’s better! :)

This is how I found Jaxen napping the other day.
All his block letters, lined up on a shelf, next to him in bed.

Wide awake and a very happy baby!

And…nap time!

First bath in the tub - he loved it!

Clean baby, full belly :)

That’s all for today.
Life is crazy-busy.
I’ll try to update soon!
