Ten Things

One.
Nik likes to take pictures of Zane and I sleeping.
2-3 nights a week Zane will (silently) slip into my bed and go to sleep.
Nik then carries him to his bed when he gets home from work.

Two.
Hot tea in my favorite NY Mug and robot faces on a Saturday morning :)

Three.
A very quick trip to the Dallas area for the funeral of a friend’s mom
resulted in getting to meet Quinn for the very first time!
(and see our long time friends, Chris and Kylee).

Four.
The Clardie's graciously watched our boys while we went to TX.
I received this pic…
I love that Zane is being “walked” too - just like the dogs! Lol.

Five.
Nik helped Jaxen and Zane make an airplane.
Out of a diaper box :)

My new favorite.

Six.
Jaxen at lunch.
A mom went to have lunch with Jaxen’s class and posted this pic.

Seven.
Apple pie.
I needed to cook it a tad more - but it was tasty!

Eight.
Apple Cake.
Perfection!

Nine.
This cutie, is wearing Nik’s shirt!
Jaxen wore it and now Zane - I need to dig up some pics of Jaxen in it.
And possibly Nik (hint, hint, Kay - or have you already given one to me of him in it?)

Ten.
We have had a few days of nice, cool, fall weather.
This was one of them!

Zane: Kids Day Out - First Day

Last spring, I decided it was time to look into a Kids Day Out program for Zane to be involved in this fall. It is a good idea for many reasons, but the main one is so Nik can get more rest while working! Yes, it will be good for Zane to have a more social life and to learn…but really - Nik needs sleep. Lol! We looked into a few different programs and landed on one that was not too far away and that we could afford. Nik went and toured the facility and talked to the Director and then we signed our little baby up for “school”.

Zane will attend one day a week, Thursdays, from 9:30-2:30pm. Nik will drop Jaxen off at school at 8:30am, kill a little time, take Zane to school and then SLEEP! He will pick Zane up at 2:30 (or I might) and then get Jaxen at 3:30pm.

He had his first (1/2 day) last Thursday!

He had a great first day and I know he is excited to go back!

He is so cute!
He is at a pretty fun stage of life right now too.
Soon (I hope) I need to do a blog post all about Zane!
I love him so very much :)

Road Trip: The Rest of Our Stay!

We hit the road Saturday afternoon and arrived home early Sunday (3am).
Our bags are unpacked, laundry is done, we are back at school/work and my fall candle is out :)

The rest of our trip was pretty relaxing and great…

Danielle and I went out to lunch together one day so Nik took the boys to Burger King.
(I have no pictures of Danielle and I)
Jaxen is enjoying his orange cream slush!

The boys had the best time playing with toys (riding the horse) and video games!

The news of the year is that Jaxen learned to ride the Hover Board!!!
Zane loved going for rides on it too.

We enjoyed one last swim before we took off!

That’s a recap of our little vacation!

Tomorrow…Zane starts Kids Day Out!

Road Trip: Get-a-way - Part 2

Wednesday we ate breakfast at a local diner, because of course.
Then we headed out to find some kayak’s to rent!
But first…we had to stop at Wal-Mart.
I packed nothing except swim suits for the beach.
Nothing else!
No towels, sunscreen, lawn chairs….nothing.
So a quick trip to the store (2 towels, 1 sunscreen and 1 water pouch for phone, keys, etc)
and we were ready to kayak!

The guy we contacted about renting kayak’s told us he would be there in one hour
so we found a public beach and had fun playing in the waves and laying in the sun while we waited.

The beach was so pretty and the waves were great!
selfies with the beach (and Nik’s legs) in the background :)

We got our kayak’s and headed out on a 2 hour adventure!
We had a great time.
It was super relaxing, and it was so pretty.

After we kayaked, we hit up a sub place for lunch and then went to the hotel to change.
We decided to stay out of the sun a bit and we headed to some outlet malls for a little shopping.

We decided for dinner that night, we were going to eat at the hotel
restaurants (by their pool) that overlooked the ocean.
It was a beautiful night and so relaxing!

The view from our table.

After dinner we headed down to the beach again as the sun was setting
(no view of the actual sunset this time)
and we enjoyed time in the water again!
We ended on a bad note though…Nik got stung by something :(
We are not really sure what is was (probably jelly fish).
After we got back to the room he iced and then soaked in a warm
Epsom Salt bath - that seemed to help.
He was better by the next morning!

But before the stinging, we were having fun in the big waves!

We headed out the next morning - and were so excited to see our boys!
It was such a fun, memorable trip with Nik.
I am so glad for that time we had together.
We are already planning to go again (with the boys this time)!
