Halloween - Take 1

Saturday afternoon (after naps) we got the boys dressed up and we headed out to a Trunk-or-Treat!
We went to the Overland Park Police Station and it was packed with people.
But - it flowed well, and we had a great time!
Lots of candy, some live music, sno-cones and some very cute costumes :)

Such a fun night!
We don’t have any plans set in stone for Halloween...
but we will probably eat Sonic Corn Dogs and find a neighborhood to do a little
Trick-or-Treating!

I don’t love love this holiday…
but it is fun to hang out with my kiddos and enjoy it with them :)

A Day In The Life…Almost

Remember way back when, when I used to do “A Day in the Life” posts? I love looking back on those posts to see what our days looked like, and it was always fun to document our day. So I decided I would do one again. But it feel flat! Haha!

I started out strong, documenting our day. I wrote down what happened between 2:30am until 3:45am (took Jaxen potty, changed Zane’s diaper, got Zane some milk, put cream over a bite on Jaxen’s foot…).

I took a picture of my breakfast (and quiet time and school paperwork)...

and me all ready for work….

I even took a picture of a bandaid on the back button of my jeans (I have a bad rash on my stomach and I’m trying to find the culprit - thinking it’s the button from my jeans)...

I even asked Nik to take a picture of the boys for me (Jaxen, with his tardy slip because they were late to school)….

And then…it fell flat. That’s all! So, welcome to our ‘morning’ :)

I did take a picture of last night. Jaxen and I had a little one on one time, eating ice cream. And we had a great time. We talked and worked on rhyming words.

I’m sure more happened in our day…but that’s all you get! Maybe I will try again to do a “Day in the Life” post. Maybe

Here’s the Deal

Here’s the deal…
I like blogging.
I miss blogging.
I want to blog.

This was Zane tonight…haha!

However….
I am on a computer all day now.
When I come home from work I try to be completely focused on my kids.
Poor Nik, he even gets put off until after the kids go to bed!
And then after I spend time with the kids, and Nik, it’s about bedtime.

I love it when Zane brings me a Sonic drink to work!

Therefore…
I am not blogging near as much as I would like.

Rusty and Zane watching football :)

I’m going to try to figure something out though…
so if you are still hanging around, reading my sporatic posts…
thank you…and hopefully I’ll get better!

Zane…greeting me in the hallway, carrying his diaper like a purse!
Hahahahahaha!

Three Things

1. I finally got a haircut! My hair had gotten really long and “unruly” as I like to say. A before picture is on the left and an after picture is on the right. She cut a ton of length off and thinned it out. I think I really like the cut! The other picture is a better picture of the cut (without the curl-styled from the beautician).

2. Most nights we stay home and I try to have quality one-on-one time with each of the boys before bed. Jaxen really loves to play Uno. So we did that one night. And then another night, we ran to the closest McDonalds Play Place and let the boys run around wild! We had the whole place to ourselves and they had the best time.

3. We had some thunderstorms here on Saturday night. And my boys had the best time playing outside (on our porch) in the rain. Zane especially. And he was soaked after I finally made him come in. But we had the best sky because of the thunderstorm!

Pumpkins

Saturday morning we loaded up and drove north of Kansas City to a small town street festival.

It was small, and cute and perfect for our little crew on this day!

I had planned to paint pumpkins with Jaxen later that day,
but I totally scored when I saw a pumpkin painting booth.
Yes, please :)

Zane could not take it, that he did not have a pumpkin.
Thankfully, I found a little booth selling pumpkins!
He was so proud of his little pumpkin and held on to it pretty tight.

When we had explored every booth, painted a pumpkin, bought a pumpkin,
purchased some Kettle Corn, and watched a Karate demonstration,
we hit the road home.
And stoped at a little pumpkin stand to buy more pumpkins for us to decorate.

First, Jaxen and I drew on pumpkins and Nik carved them
so we could have Jack-o-lanterns.

Then, I got out some crayons, hot glued them to a pumpkin
and then let Jaxen go to town with the blow dryer.

And…the finished products!

We made some halloween cards for Jaxen’s friends from Wolcott this afternoon.
He really misses them so I thought this would be a fun thing for him to do.
We painted the cards, then put stickers on them and then he
told me what to write in every card.

They turned out cute and in one he had me write:
“I hope this card makes you smile when you are having a hard time."

I love this sweet, thoughtful boy of mine!

Cuties

This week Nik sent me one of the best pictures!
I don’t normally get to see Zane in the mornings before I leave for work -
so I enjoy these little snapshots of my littlest.

Another cutie this week was Jaxen!
His music class was shooting some kind of superhero movie trailer,
and they were all asked to wear a super hero shirt.
Jaxen’s were all too small - so Nik ran to the store the day prior and found this one.
It’s a Justice League shirt and I love it because it’s not “cartoon-y”
(if that makes sense!).
Just look how cute he is!

And here’s his super hero pose….

This picture is definitely a cute one!

And the other night, we got a “Morocca-Concert”.
(Basically, rocks in a baking powder and drink mix container).
But they were pretty cute while dancing and shaking their morocca’s!

I mean…pretty cute, right?!

That smile :)

CUTE BOYS!!!!
