Zane - Pics from School

Today I got the chance to take the boys to school!

When I dropped Jaxen off he asked me to not to give him a kiss and hug because
he was in 2nd grade now, and that’s embarrassing (his words). Lol.

Zane is still all about the hugs and kisses…and pictures!

He wanted to show me how big he was :)

Here a a few pics from his school days…

He loves school and I’m so glad!
Next month I will begin to talk with his teacher about what next year looks like.
I hope to put him in a full-day preschool, but not sure yet if that is an option.

Weekend Happenings

Well, last Friday marked 3 Fridays in a row where the kiddos had a snow day.
I only had a late arrival - but I'll take it.
I have yet to work a full 5-day week since the New Year - ha!

Jaxen had a basketball game on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Saturday's game was great!
His team won, and they played so well together!
Jaxen did a great job too - he is really improving!

He is #2, white jersey

Sunday's game was not quite as good.
They still won (by 2) but they did not play as well together.
Jaxen was confused by some of the rules, and got the whistle blown on him a few times.
But he is learning and I'm proud of him - he is doing his best!

Since the Chiefs were not playing on Sunday -
Jaxen and I had "Art Time" while Nik and Zane napped.
We watched a YouTube video and learned how to draw a Pokemon character, and then a lamborgini.

After Sunday's basketball game -
we went to dinner with our neighbors (who also have a son on Jaxen's team).
It was fun to go out with friends!

Catching Up

Well, I haven't blogged much because I don't have much to blog about!
But here's a few things to catch you up on the Davis Family in 2020....

Nik's Birthday:
Nik and I had a fun time celebrating his birthday!
We got a kid-sitter and headed out to the movies to see Ford v Ferrari and
then ate at our favorite Greek restaurant!

School:
Both boys are back at school!
Well, with the exception of a few snow days, a few sick days, and a few holiday-days off.

Sick Kiddos:
Zane has been the sick one this month.
After his hospital stay over the New Year, he has been sick 2 weekends.
Poor guy.
Upset tummy / fevers / extra tired…
not sure, but maybe…hopefully he is all better?!

Snow Days:
The last two Fridays, school and work (for me) was cancelled due to snow/ice.
(Nik's work is never cancelled).
Between the Christmas/New Year's break and two snow days,
we are getting used to long weekends.
And this household is not sad about that! Ha!

Organizing/Purging:
One of the perks to snow days and cancelled weekend activities is that I
get the opportunity to make a dent in my organizing/purging plan!
I have re-arranged the boys room;
the boy's "art room" is now my "get ready to garage-sale room";
and we finally almost-finished my laundry area!
(I say almost because we still have to fix some places in the wall, add an ironing board holder,
a broom holder, baseboards and a new light fixture -
but it's functional now, and so much better than it was!)

I am slowly making my way through every room, closet, cabinet, drawer, and box we have -
purging, to (hopefully) only keep items that are needed.
I hope to have a Garage Sale this spring!

Football:
Go Chiefs!

I have to show you these pictures from yesterday.

These two guys were exhausted.
This was about an hour before the game - I woke Nik up when the game started,
but he could not keep his eyes open.
So he slept most of the game. As did Zane.
I enjoyed my buffalo wings, my QT soda, and the Chiefs WIN by myself!

So excited for the Super Bowl!!!!
GO CHIEFS!!!!

Christmas Part III

Christmas morning Jaxen was the first to wake up.
He was starting to get a little restless so I "helped" Zane wake up (turn on light, turn of music...).
Once they were both awake we headed downstairs to see what Santa brought!

Zane received the basketball shooting game and Jaxen received a basketball goal, plus stockings!
They looked through their stockings and played the basketball shooting game until Nik could finish putting together the basketball hoop.

The boys headed outside where we met up with our neighbors who were on a walk!

After a little basketball, we came inside for a breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls.
Then...it was present time!

The boys loved thier gifts from each other
(slap bracelets for Jaxen and an Untamed Dinosaur for Zane, named "Scratcher").

"Scratcher" even helped Zane open many of his gifts.

Everyone had a fun time opening gifts and we all received some great things!

The after....

This pretty much sums up the rest of Jaxen and Zane’s day!

We enjoyed the rest of our day, lounging, playing games and eating!

We had leftovers for lunch and then had a wonderful dinner which included:
Roast
Deviled Eggs
Broccoli Salad
Cranberry Salad
Creamy Corn
Green Beans
Sweet Potato Casserole
Rolls
Chocolate Pie
