This Blog Space

So - this blog...

I have considered letting it go.
It can be hard to find/take the time to download pictures and write a blog post.

When I do take the time, I really enjoy it.
I also really love looking back.
And I love that our families and friends can stay connected to us and watch our kiddos grow up.
Thank you for reading!

After some consideration I have decided to continue the blog.
And I have had fun this past week or so with it!

With that said…here are a bunch of random pictures over the last few weeks....

Zane went to the dentist and did great!
He loves brushing his teeth and does not want me to help.
However, about every other night, I brush for him.
I just need to know all his teeth are getting cleaned!

I love getting pictures like these while I'm at work :)
Have I told you how much Zane loves his daddy?
Because he does...in a big way!

Zane loves taking pictures...
of himself, his shoes, the floor - basically anyting!

Have I shared these?
Sorry if I have - they just crack me up!

We were glad to have Russell and Kay come for a visit a few weeks ago.
Some great memories were made...but this may be the best one:
Russell (who does not like heights) took Jaxen on the Ferris Wheel!

Some days, this boy can just not hang.

Since our weather has been nicer (for the most part) he has loved being outside!

At almost the last minute (after registration had passed) Jaxen decided to play soccer again!
I am so glad he did. He has fun with it.
And is getting better by the week!
Here are pics from his first game this year.

Yes, that is him laying down - lol!

This is his "ready" stance as a goalie, which he loves to do!

Jaxen is beginning to make some neighborhood friends, and I love that!
A few weeks ago I took my boys and a new friend, Sayde, for a walk to the park.

I have been going through Jaxen's old clothes for Zane and came across Batman.
Zane now loves being Batman. Or a Fireman. Really, anything with a costume!

Whew - That was a lot!
Hope you enjoyed a look back :)

1st Grade Field Trip

Jaxen's class had a field trip coming up to Play Hospital and asked if I would go with him. I decided I should go, since he asked, plus it would give me a chance to meet his friends and talk with his teacher. So I took the day off and went.

Instead of riding with the kids on the bus, the teachers asked that we meet them at the Medical Center. Let me tell you from experience - my quiet car ride was so much nicer than a bus full of 1st graders! Haha.

We met at a Medical Center here in town where they gave a great presentation on what to expect if you ever come to the hospital. They used the kids to "act" out different scenarios and allowed them to be the patients, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, radiologist, dieticians, surgeons...etc.

As part of the presentation, they handed out these hats to all the kids. Jaxen said it kept his head warm and so he wore it the rest of the field trip!

It was about an hour long presentation and then we headed to a nearby park to eat lunch and play on a playground.

It was fun hanging out with Jaxen. I'm glad he wanted me to go!

Zane Turns 3

Zaney-boo is three!!!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our funny little boy.

His birthday was on a Thursday and so Wednesday night I took some time to hang balloons and streamers. I am not sure why I did not get any pictures…but it was fun and Zane had a great reaction when he woke up Thursday! In fact, the next day when he woke up - he asked "Where's my birthday?" Haha. Because apparently streamers and balloons = birthday :)

On his actual birthday, Thursday, we went out for pizza. His favorite. All the adults sat inside while he and Jaxen enjoyed outside (it was a bit chilly that night).

After dinner we came home for presents and Oreo’s (Zane does not really eat cake of any kind, or ice cream - so Oreo’s it was)! Jaxen read Zane his cards and then Zane had fun opening his presents. I love how excited he got with all his gifts!

Nik and Russell build a sandbox for Zane. I think it turned out great! There is still some work that needs to be done on and around it, but it is Zane's happy place :)

We got Oreo's in place of a cake - I put the candles in, we sang, Zane blew them out and that's when I noticed...

I only put 2 candles in!!! Haha! So we had to do it all over again :)

Friday, on Zane's actual birthday, we headed to the Zoo to celebrate. Jaxen had the day off of school, I took the day off work, and Nik's parents were visiting - so that was fun! It was a pretty cold day. Many of the animals were not out (especially in the Africa Region) but we still had a nice time being outside and doing something Zane loves.

Happy Birthday Zane - we love you and are so thankful God placed you in our lives!!!
