Flag Football

It's Football Time!!!!

I signed both Jaxen and Zane up for Flag Football this year, and they were pumped about it!

Jaxen's team actually started practices last week.

They will not start games for a few more weeks.

Zane's team will hopefully start practices this week.

I cannot wait to see how cute little 5 year olds are when they play flag football :)

Basement Remodel - Part 4

Guess what?!

You finally get to see the rest of our basement remodel :)

I'll remind you where we left off...since it has been a while...

 

The BEFORE:

THE AFTER:

Piers placed under the floors to help our foundation, flooring replaced, cracks in walls fixed, fresh coat of paint on everything, new (and more) lighting, new walls, plumbing for kitchenette.... you know, just a few things to make this "after" look so good!

Isn't it great?!

We really love how it turned out...so bright and fresh!

There is still some work that needs to be done on the mudroom (and stairs) outside the apartment entrance, but we'll get it all finished up one day!

First Day of School

Today, Jaxen and Zane walked into school together for the first time! Jaxen is entering 4th grade and Zane is in Kinder. Walking in, they were so sweet… I had asked Jaxen to make sure Zane got to where he needed to go and after I dropped them off in the car line, as I was pulling away I saw Jaxen put his arm around Zane and they walked into school that way! Be still my heart!

Tuesday afternoon we were able to go into the school, drop off school supplies, check out classrooms and meet teachers. I was so excited for Zane… and he was as chill as he could be! His attitude was “cool, no big deal”. I actually wanted more excitement from him - ha! I think he was pretty stoked this morning though, so that made it better! I should be thankful (and I am) that he is so chill and okay leaving us to attend school.

Our school district is requiring that everyone wear masks in the building. I’m okay with that. These new variants of C-vid have me a bit worried. I feel like they are taking the precautions they need to be. Who knows what this school year will hold… I mean, we’ve been here before, right?!

Anyway -

So today the boys had 1/2 a day and then they will go a full day tomorrow, before the weekend. Monday will be their first full week of school. 

I pray this is a great school year for them both!
