Road Trip: Homebound

This is the final blog post for our road trip!

Wednesday we left the Chandlers and picked up Nik at his hotel in downtown Kansas City. I had heard about some kind of ‘Underwater Sea Exhibit’ that was free, also in downtown, so we stopped by to check it out…

It was a cute play area!

After we left the downtown area we headed to Ikea!

We checked Jaxen into the play area for 1 hour while we did some shopping. Once we picked him up we enjoyed a delicious Ikea lunch and shopped a tad more, while Jaxen and Zane pretty much just played!

Don’t laugh at me, but here are some of our purchases…
(most people buy furniture or really cool organizational stuff)
This is what I buy…

2 frying pans, a spatula, a dustpan and broom, new silverware, cutting boards...

a new art smock for Jaxen...

some popcicle holders, 2 of my very favorite summer candles, loose tea holders...

a few little birthday gifts for Zane...

some new dishes for the boys...

some baby bibs for a baby shower coming up...

and some more white bins and 2 white shelves.

That’s it!

After Ikea and a quick stop to pick up the rest of our belongings at the Robbins, we hit the road and headed home. Our drive home was a bit better than our drive there. As in - no bad weather! However, I was really tired (Zane was waking up between 3 and 5 times every single night we were gone) and couldn’t help drive very much. We just stopped whenever we needed to, and finally made it home Thursday morning. The boys did great on the way back - I think they were both so exhausted, they were super chill and slept a lot.
