Pics of Life

Here we go….
another post of random pictures from the last few weeks!

Jaxen and Zane’s relationship just gets better and better.
Zane can now “play” (although he doesn’t listen to Jaxen near as much as Jaxen would like).
But he can hold his own - and they can have fun.
Jaxen still takes his toys away from Zane…
and Zane will still hit Jaxen for no reason.
But these sweet times are what I just love :)

Most mornings (around 10am) you will find me at my desk,
with a cup of hot tea and a piece of chocolate.
It’s what I do.
I eat one piece of dark chocolate almost every morning,
somewhere around 10am.
I have always loved chocolate in the morning (not first thing…but for a snack).

Zane had his 18 month well-check last week (5+ months late)…
and the doc was super happy with him and where he was at in all areas.
He has his 2 year well check at the end of April - I’ll try to do better about blogging that one.
At least I got it scheduled early - haha!

This does not happen too often…but when it does, it makes me smile the rest of the night.
Notes on our front door.
Jaxen will write/draw me notes and put them on with magnets.
I love it!
Especially since he used his school magnet.
Seriously - wouldn’t that just make you smile when you came home from work?!

Most nights Nik is napping and Jaxen is in bed so it’s just me and Zane.
I love that time for just us.
Some nights we totally just chill.
Some nights he helps me with laundry, or we play.
Love him!

And this is how Zane helps me with laundry!
He pulls all the clothes out for me.
On this day, he dropped his toy in the dryer and had to climb in to get it.
No worries - this dryer was not hot at all (I check before he even helps me).

Dr. Suess Day.
It was last week.
Jaxen and I were supposed to have a great time making a costume together,
but that is the night he choose to have the worst tantrums he has had in awhile.
Needless to say - he was in bed and I was cutting out fish, by myself
putting this shirt together for him.
All I could think about is how much fun he would have had with this.
Oh well. Tough stuff, raising kids!
I had planned on him wearing a yellow shirt.
When I went to his closet to grab it - what I thought was yellow, turned out to be orange.
So I just went with black. It worked.

And he looked pretty cute the next day!

Speaking of cute…
I am trying to learn to cut the boys hair.
Now, by “trying"…I mean getting a pair of clippers and going for it.
I’m not “trying” by reading up on it, or watching youtube videos (which I should do).
I am just going to town.
But Jaxen’s turned out pretty cute, I think!

I love getting pictures like this from Nik during the day...

And like this!
Please take note of the sumo wrestler in the background :)

Saturday Nik went to the KC Car Show with Jim and Marcus.
Of course, no pics.

So the boys and I got to hang out with our friend, Becky!
First up…
Home Depot Workshop.
Jaxen built and painted a Periscope.
It turned out great!

Then we hit up the park!
We had beautiful weather Saturday and it was so nice to be outside!

Zane looks so big in these pictures.
Partly, because I buzzed his hair.
I was “trying” to cut it and messed up.
He is two. That is to be expected.
Therefore, the buzz. And I actually love it!

The last stop before going home and letting Zane nap was McDonalds.
And Ice Cream.

And that’s a peak into our lives!
