Basketball Is Over

The last weekend in February, Jaxen wrapped up his basketball season!

This was something new for him that he wanted to try out and I’m so glad he did.
Most (probably all) the other kids on his team had 1-3 years of basketball experience,
but it didn’t bother Jaxen…he just tried his best and he did really great!

From his first game where he was so confused and had no clue…
to the very last game where he was confident enough to shoot the basketball in the hoop
(instead of just pass it) he grew so much!

He made new friends, learned about teamwork and didn’t give up…even though
he wanted to at times.

Jaxen’s favorite thing the entire season was playing DEFENSE.
He was committed.
He would play defense even when he was on offense!
He would be so committed to his defense that he (at least once)
missed the ball that rolled right by his legs - haha!

Towards the end of the season, he got used to the ball and the game and
would dribble more, and pass to his teammates.

I’m not sure if he would play again, but I’m glad he gave it a whirl!
