Pool Time

The boys and I love spending time at the pool in the summer!

We started out with a bang - the first day the pools were open, we were first in line, and the boys were even the first ones in the water this season!

The weather has been pretty rainy the last few weeks, but we have snuck in as much pool time as we can. One day this weekend, we even went while it was sprinkling! There was no lightning and the pool water is heated - so they swam for over an hour (until I got tired of getting sprinkled on -ha!)

Zane wants to swim every.single.day. He loves the water! I love that it helps him get his energy out! Just Zane and I went to the pool (twice) this weekend.

All About Jaxen

Jaxen sure does keep us on our toes! He will be 10 this month which partly explains why I don’t have any pictures of him on my phone…. he never wants his pic taken!

Here’s a few stories about Jaxen (instead of pictures)…

Jaxen joined choir this past year at school and really enjoyed it! I think he will be a part of choir again, next year.

Although he was counting down the days until school was out, I think he is really looking forward to being the oldest at school next year (elementary only goes to 5th grade here).

Jaxen heard of one of our neighbors losing their dog (slipped out when the door was open). Jaxen immediately hoped on his bike and rode through the neighborhood looking for it - he found it! He was very worried and knew he could help. Sweet, right?!

Jaxen very much wants to earn some money and he often has ideas about how to do so. Many times, I have to talk him out of an idea - just because it’s not practical and he does not think through the logistics.  He seems to be very entrepreneurial!

Jaxen is learning a lot about responsibility and maturity. Not a day goes by that one of those words are not in a conversation we have - ha! Part of growing up… some days can be awfully tough, but then others are pretty sweet.

Stayed tuned on how we will celebrate my little boy turning 10 😭😀

All About Zane

Oh Zane… he is one of a kind, isn’t he?! Just take a look…

Cutting his own hair (with supervision, this time)!

Playing in the snow.

Looking cool, with his sports medals.

Zane wants to color his hair everyday. I do not let him very often…but I did on this particular Saturday.

Although Zane is getting older - he still wants his cuddles every day!

Zane loves basketball! This was his team this past winter.
He is on a different team now - but still having fun and learning lots.

For Zane’s birthday he wanted to invite his 3 besties to play at SkyZone.
They had a blast!

Left: Zane first day of Kinder
Right: Zane (almost) last day of Kinder
And the glasses… his blue ones broke. We replaced them with a new green pair (different style) and he did not like wearing them - at all. He has since outgrown them and we are looking to buy him another new pair (same style as blue) in red. I hope he will start to wear them, again.

He has grown a lot this year.
He did excellent in school but his most favorite thing is playing with friends.

Hello!

It’s been a minute…or 5 months 😊

I am not really sure where to start….

Christmas came and went, as did New Years, Easter and all the other Holidays. I’m sure they were all fun.

Zane turned six.

Jaxen played basketball. He improved a lot. His team went undefeated.

Zane also played basketball and loved every minute. He then tried soccer for the first time and loved every minute.

We had multiple trips to the Urgent Care.

Both boys finished up school and are so excited its summer.

I think we are all caught up now!

Stay tuned.. I WILL be back!

Life Lately

Well, tomorrow (Friday) is the boys last day of school for 2021. They are pumped! Even I'm ready for a bit more relaxed schedule :)

Here is a little bit of life lately for you...

Zane is a Chiefs fan!
He loves his new shirt - we matched a few weeks ago for their game!

There is nothing better than a clean house with twinkle lights, a lit candle, Christmas pillows and football!

More twinkle lights!

I love working in my dining room with twinkle lights and my Navity.

Last night in the terrible wind storms, I lost a wreath. But look how cute they are on our house! Especially with my black shutter (which used to be maroon) and the black railing (which used to be white).

Nik and I love playing games (when we have some down time).

The boys stayed the night at a friends house last weekend and they came home extra tired. I worked really hard that morning to keep their big (sleep-deprived) feelings at bay. So we started with Go Fish (using Uno cards) and then I worked on mixing up some cookie dough.

The minute their game was finished, they joined in the fun!

We have some wonderful sugar cookies now (no icing this time - we just did sprinkles and such). I probably need to make another batch that they can decorate with icing.

That's about it, I guess. Nik and I are both crazy busy at work, but we are looking forward to Christmas and time with the family!

Christmas Fun

Last weekend we did a few fun Christmas things!

First, Saturday morning, we visited Santa!
The boys school had a pancake breakfast where you could meet Santa.
We filled our bellies and then the boys got to visit with him for a few minutes.

Saturday evening, we ended the night in our pajamas at a Christmas Lights Drive-thru!
